Class A CDL Driver Jobs in Liverpool, NY at Mercer Milling
We are in search of a team-oriented and flexible individual to join our team of Drivers at Mercer. This full-time hourly role is responsible for multiple duties in a fast-paced environment related to the successful delivery of high-quality dairy feed pre-mix. The role reports to the Plant Manager and receives input from quality, supply chain, nutrition, and overall managerial leadership.
Schedule
Monday through Friday, start 5:00 A.M. – hours may fluctuate based on business needs, with overtime and weekends as needed.
Responsibilities:
· Weekly delivery of 5 to 7 local loads with 1 to 6 stops per load.
o Freight: 1 ton tote or bags on pallets.
· Maintain strict adherence to Safety Policies and Procedures.
o Will follow all aspects of operating vehicle according to DOT standards.
o Cleanliness and maintenance of all equipment.
· Follow all expectations to ensure efficient and accurate delivery to customers (detailed instructions).
o Assist Mercer Warehouse staff with picking, loading, and down stacking as needed.
o Drive to customer location and unload in a timely manner.
o Demonstrate good professionalism (appearance, attitude, communication, cleanliness of equipment, etc.)
o Assist with loading and unloading deliveries on and off of truck.
o Must be able to drive manual transmission.
· Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/ Abilities:
· Excellent attention to detail and proactive/results orientation; demonstrate good attendance, accuracy and responsibility
· Good communication skills; accept and follow policy and job expectations
· Utilize a growth mindset to meet job expectations, such as learning new customer receiving procedures and route software.
· Experience using math skills required.
Physical Requirements:
· Periods working on feet, walking, bending, stretching, lifting, climbing, and performing repetitive actions.
· Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds.
· Manual dexterity needed to operate machinery and equipment.
· Visual acuity needed to inspect machinery.
· Must be able to work in indoor and outdoor conditions which may include heat, cold, dust, height, loud noise, etc., with the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Qualifications:
· High school diploma or GED required.
· Valid Class A CDL License
· Minimum Class A CDL truck driving experience of 1 year
· Acceptable driving record
· Possess valid DOT Medical Card
· Must be able to drive manual transmission.
· Forklift operation and experience with OSHA safety compliance preferred.
This is a full-time non-exempt, hourly position with a competitive hourly rate and benefits package, which includes eligibility for Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, LTD, HSA, FSA, PTO, Sick, and 401(K) programs. The hourly range set for this position is between $27 – $31 per hour. Eligible for a pay increase after 90-day probationary period.

Pay: $28.00 – $34.00 per hour
