STV is seeking a highly motivated
Civil/Water Resources Engineer
for positions in our Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, Harrisburg PA, or Lawrenceville, Newark, NJ offices. The ideal candidates will have experience with public transportation improvement projects for NJDOT, SJTA, NJ Turnpike, PennDOT, and other agencies. You will work under the supervision of Senior Project Managers, responsible for providing civil/highway design with minimal supervision.
Assignments may also include drainage design, rail-transit, and design-build projects.
Responsibilities include:
Providing professional design services for highway improvement projects for various public transportation agencies in NJ and PA.
Developing design plans including horizontal and vertical alignment, drainage, grading, erosion/sediment control, stormwater management, roads, and cross sections for transportation improvement projects.
Coordinating design development and providing technical guidance to other design staff.
Ensuring quality deliverables within schedule and budget by coordinating with the design team.
Assisting in developing specifications, cost estimates, reports, and final bid packages.
Building relationships and interfacing with client technical staff and project managers.
Preparing technical and cost proposals.
Mentoring and guiding less experienced team members.
Participating in project meetings with clients, sub-consultants, and the project team.
Conducting site feasibility, constructability evaluations, and assessments.
Required Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a Transportation focus.
PA and/or NJ Professional Engineer (PE) license is required.
At least 8 years of progressive transportation design experience.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D.
Familiarity with NJDOT, PennDOT, and AASHTO design standards is a plus.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Experience with multi-discipline infrastructure projects.
Ability to perform job functions safely and consistently.
Compensation Range: $114,960 – $153,281
