Duties
- Safely operate a variety of vehicles including passenger cars, limousines, shuttle buses, box trucks, and commercial vehicles across different routes and terrains.
- Navigate using GPS systems and fleet tracking technology to ensure timely arrivals and departures.
- Load, unload, and secure freight or passenger luggage using manual handling techniques or equipment such as pallet jacks when necessary.
- Follow all traffic regulations, safety protocols, and company policies during every trip, including driving in adverse weather conditions.
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness and perform routine inspections to identify mechanical issues or safety concerns.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, and team members via mobile devices to coordinate routes and address any issues promptly.
- Assist with warehouse or yard activities such as yard jockeying or moving freight using forklifts or heavy equipment when required.
Skills
- Proven experience operating standard passenger cars, commercial trucks, limousines, or shuttle vehicles with a clean driving record.
- Strong knowledge of GPS navigation systems and fleet GPS tracking tools for route planning and real-time updates.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely following proper lifting practices; experience with manual handling is preferred.
- Familiarity with driving in various conditions including adverse weather or challenging terrains such as heavy haul routes or over-the-road (OTR) driving routes.
- Mechanical knowledge of commercial vehicles including box trucks, dump trucks, tanker trucks, or heavy equipment operation is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting professionally with clients and team members; customer service experience is highly valued.
- Knowledge of safety protocols related to commercial driving including air brake operation, manual transmission handling, and adherence to traffic regulations.
