Context
As part of major EPC projects (notably LNG and offshore developments), you will join the Chartering & Marine Logistics function and take ownership of all sea transportation activities.
You will be responsible for the selection, negotiation, and management of vessels required for project execution.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy & Planning
- Define vessel and marine logistics requirements in coordination with project teams
- Identify, screen, and qualify vessel owners (compliance, red flag analysis)
- Prepare and manage bidder lists for marine transportation tenders
Tendering & Selection
- Prepare tender documentation (ITB, CPA exhibits, commercial packages)
- Lead the full tendering process (via tools such as People Connect)
- Analyze technical and commercial bids
- Assess vessel suitability (specifications, routes, transit time, execution plans)
Negotiation & Contract Management
- Lead negotiations of Charter Party Agreements (CPA)
- Review and amend BIMCO contracts
- Ensure contractual flow-down from main contract to CPAs
- Optimize commercial terms and secure vessel availability
Operations Follow-up
- Coordinate with T&I, procurement, and project teams
- Monitor CPAs post-award and ensure contractual compliance
- Support marine operations execution (planning, logistics, instructions)
- Provide guidance to vessel owners (sailing instructions, bunkering, security, etc.)
Reporting & Control
- Report to Head of Chartering on project status and risks
- Track vessel fleet status (ETA, performance, issues)
- Manage financial aspects related to marine transportation
- Ensure all contractual documentation is in place (bonds, agreements, etc.)
Compliance & Quality
- Ensure adherence to project procedures and company standards
- Monitor contractual and commercial risks
- Guarantee quality and consistency of all deliverables
Profile Requirements
Experience
- Strong experience in chartering / marine logistics
- Experience in offshore, LNG, or EPC projects is highly required
- Proven track record in complex marine transportation scopes
Technical Skills
- Strong expertise in Charter Party Agreements (CPA)
- Solid knowledge of BIMCO contracts
- Good understanding of offshore logistics / T&I operations
- Experience in tendering, bid evaluation, and contract negotiation
