Responsibilities
Operate and drive trucks, including tractor-trailers and refrigerated trailers, to transport freight to designated locations.
Load and unload cargo using forklifts or manual handling techniques as required.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of hours driven and cargo transported.
Adhere to all federal, state, and local traffic laws while operating the vehicle.
Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding delivery schedules and any potential issues on the road.
Ensure proper handling of freight during loading and unloading processes to prevent damage.
Qualifications
Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record.
Experience driving various types of trucks, including tractor-trailers, tankers, and refrigerated units.
Proficiency in operating manual transmission vehicles is preferred.
Ability to load and unload freight safely and efficiently.
Strong understanding of safety regulations related to truck driving.
Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
Strong communication skills for effective interaction with team members and clients.
Previous experience in truck driving or logistics is a plus but not mandatory.
