Job Overview
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Truck Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently across various routes. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, excellent driving skills, and the ability to handle different types of trucks, including flatbed and refrigerated trailers.
Responsibilities
Operate various types of trucks, including flatbed, roll-off, and tractor-trailer vehicles.
Safely load and unload freight using appropriate equipment such as forklifts.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety standards are met.
Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, vehicle maintenance, and deliveries.
Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while on the road.
Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members regarding delivery schedules and any issues that may arise during transport.
Manage cargo securement to prevent damage during transit.
Skills
Proven experience in truck driving with a valid commercial driver’s license (CDL).
Proficiency in operating manual transmission vehicles.
Familiarity with various truck types including refrigerated trailers and flatbeds.
Strong knowledge of freight handling procedures and safety regulations.
Ability to perform basic maintenance on trucks as needed.
Excellent time management skills to meet delivery deadlines.
Strong communication skills for effective interaction with team members and clients.
