CDL Freight Driver
The CDL Truck Driver is responsible for handling local and regional transport of material handling equipment in a safe and timely manner while maintaining DOT regulations, including the securing, loading, and unloading of Material Handling Equipment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform daily operator inspection and check of tractor & trailer as outlined in DOT guidelines.
Safely and securely load and unload all types of material handling equipment including forklifts, industrial batteries, chargers, miscellaneous parts, and specialty equipment from multiple types of trailers using designated dock equipment.
Maintain concise and accurate DOT driving log.
Comply with DOT rules and regulations (size, weight, route designations, parking, break periods etc.) as well as with company policies and procedures.
Report defects, accidents, or violations to Corporate Manager, Shop & Transportation.
Adhere to shipping and receiving procedures including utilization of Warehouse Management System
Ensures safety and clean appearance of truck and trailer, reporting any maintenance/compliance issues to Corporate Manager, Shop & Transportation.
Perform minor maintenance on tractor and trailer.
Ensures proper damage assessments of equipment and provides documentation and photos to Transportation Administration.
Verify routes have been completed and all corresponding paperwork has been submitted for processing.
Interact with internal employees and customers in a professional manner.
Assist dock staff in performing daily tasks.
Perform related duties as assigned or as the situation dictates.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Up to date Hazmat Endorsement
Knowledge of DOT regulations, compliance, and standards.
Skilled in driving semi tractor and 53′ flat deck trailers.
Ability to understand how equipment is set up for shipments, label, logged and counted.
Ability to maintain CDL, impeccable driving record and keep current with its requirements (i.e., medical certification).
Education and Experience:
Requires a minimum of a high school diploma/GED.
A minimum of 1-2 years practical skills experience.
