We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Truck Driver to join our logistics team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently across designated routes. This role requires a commitment to adhering to safety regulations and maintaining the integrity of the freight during transit. The Truck Driver will operate tractor-trailers, ensuring timely deliveries while providing excellent customer service.
Responsibilities
Operate and drive tractor-trailer and do port runs, home daily and weekends. Will work out of Charleston Port.
Transport freight to designated locations while adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in safe operating condition.
Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of hours driven and mileage.
Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding route changes or delays.
Load and unload freight as necessary, utilizing forklifts or other equipment when required.
Ensure proper handling of refrigerated trailers to maintain product integrity during transport.
Follow established routes for delivery while being flexible to adapt to changing conditions.
Requirements
Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for the type of vehicle driven.
Proven experience as a truck driver with a strong understanding of route driving and freight handling.
Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles effectively.
Familiarity with operating forklifts is a plus.
Experience with refrigerated trailers or tankers is desirable.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety standards.
Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines consistently.
Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening prior to employment.
