Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Truck Driver to join our transportation team. The ideal candidate will have 1+ years experience, be responsible for safely operating various types of trucks, including dry vans and flatbeds to deliver non-hazardous materials to designated locations within the state of Michigan. This role requires excellent driving skills, a strong commitment to safety, ability to work well with others, follow directions, and ability to manage freight efficiently.
Responsibilities
Operate trucks in compliance with all traffic laws and regulations.
Safely transport freight and materials to various destinations.
Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance.
Load and unload cargo if necessary (most of our freight is no-touch).
Maintain accurate delivery logs and associated paperwork.
Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding delivery schedules and any issues that arise during transport.
Ensure that all cargo is secured properly before departure.
Adhere to company policies regarding safety protocols and procedures.
Qualifications
Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL A).
Proven experience in driving a coupled unit.
Ability to operate manual transmission vehicles with no restrictions on your license (example: automatic only).
Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety practices.
Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
