Join our dynamic team as a CDL Class A OTR (Over-The-Road) Commercial Driver and embark on an exciting career that keeps America moving! In this role, you’ll operate tractor-trailers across long distances, delivering freight efficiently and safely to various destinations. Your expertise in driving different types of trucks, including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and dump trucks, will be essential in ensuring timely deliveries while maintaining the highest safety standards. This position offers the opportunity to experience diverse routes and cargo types, making every day unique and rewarding.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate tractor-trailers with manual transmissions over long-distance routes across multiple states.
- Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or roll-off trucks, ensuring secure handling of goods.
- Drive a variety of truck configurations including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks to meet customer needs.
- Maintain compliance with all federal and state transportation regulations, including hours-of-service rules and vehicle inspections.
- Plan efficient routes for timely delivery while adapting to traffic conditions and delivery schedules.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and report any maintenance issues promptly.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and team members to coordinate deliveries and resolve issues swiftly.
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial driving with a valid CDL Class A license.
- Strong knowledge of manual transmission operation and truck handling skills.
- Experience driving various truck types such as refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks.
- Ability to load & unload freight safely using forklifts or other equipment when necessary.
- Excellent route planning skills with a focus on efficiency and safety during long-haul trips.
- Familiarity with DOT regulations, hours-of-service compliance, and vehicle safety standards.
- Prior delivery driver experience preferred, especially with freight that requires careful handling or specialized equipment.
