CDL Class A Driver / Driver Trainer & Compliance Coordinator
Location: Valdosta, GA ; Salary: $65,000 per year Additional Compensation:
- $30/month phone reimbursement

Position Summary
We are seeking a dependable and experienced CDL Class A Driver / Driver Trainer & Compliance Coordinator to support our trucking operations throughout the Southeast. This role combines professional driving responsibilities with driver coaching, equipment inspections, and compliance oversight. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working closely with safety and our operations team from our location in Valdosta, GA when not driving or on the yard and will have strong communication and computer skills.
Minimum Qualifications
- Valid CDL Class A license
- Minimum 2 years of verifiable CDL Class A driving experience
- Experience hauling lumber and other flatbed freight
- Experience tarping loads and securing cargo
- Experience supervising, training, or mentoring drivers
- Strong understanding of FMCSA regulations
- Proficient with Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Gmail, etc.)
- Must have:
- A smartphone capable of accessing email and work-related applications
- Reliable personal transportation for travel to Albany, GA, Waycross, GA. , Tallahassee, FL., and Lake City FL. ( Other travel may be needed as well)
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a fill-in / on-call CDL driver when operational needs require
- Inspect trucks and trailers to ensure compliance with FMCSA regulations
- Transport company equipment to and from Penske service locations
- Pick up and transport drivers to and from repair facilities or service locations
- Review ELD data and monitor the Samsara safety inbox
- Coach and train drivers on:
- Proper load securement
- Tarping procedures
- Safe driving techniques
- FMCSA compliance requirements
- Coordinate with vendors and repair facilities regarding vehicle maintenance and repairs
- Assist management with identifying and addressing safety and compliance issues
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a driver trainer, safety coordinator, dispatcher, or fleet support role
- Familiarity with Samsara ELD and fleet management systems
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $65,000 annually
- Phone reimbursement: $30 per month
- Mileage reimbursement for approved business travel
- Driver Quarterly Bonus of $1000.
Work Schedule
This position requires flexibility and availability to support operations as needed, including serving as an on-call fill-in driver. Travel between our locations in the South will be required depending on operational demands.
Pay: $65,000.00 per year
