Summary

Responsibilities
Local deliveries
Transport materials to and from specified destinations
Prepares receipts for load pickup
Maintenance of truck logs and proof of delivery
Loading and unloading truck materials when needed
Perform proper Pre/Post trip inspections.
Inspect trucks to ensure working conditions of brakes, lights, wipers, windshield, fire extinguisher, triangles, and other safety equipment in the truck.
Adhere to all traffic laws, rules, and safety requirements
Basic small maintenance of truck
Ensure that cargo is well secured
Maintain record of goods and freight loaded and unloaded
Report any equipment in the truck in need of repair, inoperable or missing
Inspect freight and vehicle for compliance with regulations
Maintain a log of activities, condition of the vehicle and any cases of accidents
Property use electronic logs daily
Possible warehouse duties after runs are completed
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
Must have a valid Class A CDL license. 3+ years prior driving experience for a commercial company
DOT Certification
Able to drive manual
Experience in securing loads and operating flatbed trucks and trailers
Basic mechanical knowledge to handle minor maintenance and repairs
Knowledge of State and Federal transport regulations
Presents self in professional manner and have ability to interact with all levels of organization and outside contacts
Be able to walk, sit, stand, climb, kneel, or crawl occasionally
Be able to frequently lift or move up to 25lbs
Be able to strap and load materials onto truck bed
Knowledge of PVF is a plus
Work Setting
Charlotte, North Carolina
Monday – Friday, day shift
OT on some Saturdays, 8 AM – 12 PM
No nights, holidays, or Sundays
