In this energetic role, you’ll be responsible for safely transporting hazardous and non-hazardous liquids using tanker trucks within local routes. Your expertise in commercial truck driving, combined with your commitment to safety and efficiency, will ensure timely deliveries while adhering to all federal and state regulations. Responsibilities
- Operate tractor-trailer combination vehicles, such as tankers, following all DOT (Department of Transportation), FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration), and hazardous materials regulations.
- Safely load, secure, transport, and unload freight, ensuring cargo integrity and compliance with hazardous materials regulations for dangerous goods.
- Navigate routes efficiently using GPS navigation systems to meet delivery schedules across local driving routes.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck and tanker, including manual handling checks and truck loading/unloading procedures.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery records, and cargo documentation in compliance with DOT regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding route adjustments, delivery status, or safety concerns.
- Ensure the proper handling of tankers when transporting temperature-sensitive freight.
Experience
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving with a valid CDL A license, with tanker and hazmat endorsement.
- Demonstrated ability to operate manual transmission trucks safely and efficiently.
- Knowledge of handling procedures, including load & unload operations for hazardous or dangerous goods.
- Strong understanding of FMCSA regulations, DOT (Department of Transportation) standards, and hazardous materials regulations to ensure compliance at all times.
- Excellent driving record with a focus on safety and adherence to all traffic laws and safety protocols.
Requirements
- Must have CDL A
- Twic Card
- Hazmat and Tanker endorsement
- Must know how to drive a 10 speed manual
- Must be available to cover all local work assigned throughout the week
