CDL-A Flatbed Owner Operator – Midwest Hauls | $3,500–$4,200 Weekly | Chicago, IL
We’re seeking flatbed CDL-A Owner Operators near Chicago, IL who are ready to take control of their lanes and maximize their earnings. Position Overview
Pay Per Mile: $2.00 – $2.10
Estimated Weekly Pay: $3,500 – $4,200
Dispatch: Non-Forced Board
Home Time: Most weekends (34–48 hours average)
Miles Per Week: 1,800–2,100
Freight: Flatbed (must have prior experience)

Responsibilities
Haul flatbed freight across the Midwest using your own Class A tractor-trailer
Maintain FMCSA compliance, ELDs, and safe operation procedures
Secure and tarp loads appropriately
Coordinate with dispatch and customers for timely deliveries
Qualifications
23 years or older with valid CDL-A
6+ months of recent OTR experience (flatbed experience required)
No more than:
2 moving violations in the last 3 years
2 DOT-recordable accidents in the last 3 years
3 total incidents in the last 3 years
No 15+ mph speeding tickets, rollovers, or rear-end collisions in the past 3 years
No safety-related terminations from previous carriers
No violent felony convictions (all others must be outside 3–5 year window)
Must pass hair & urine drug screening and DOT physical
SAP drivers must be 5+ years clear
Must keep truck & trailer together (no bobtailing)

Do you have at least 6 months of recent OTR tractor-trailer experience in the last 12 months, including some flatbed experience? (Required to qualify – local-only experience does not meet requirements.)
Do you currently own or lease a Class A tractor-trailer that you operate under your own authority? (Required for Owner Operator consideration.)
Is your truck a 2000 model year or newer? (Trucks older than 2000 must have documentation of a certified engine rebuild.)
