CDL A Driver/Warehouse Worker:URS is looking for a truck driver with a CDL A license. The driver will be responsible for loading, unloading, and securing equipment and materials on flatbed, trailer, box, and straight trucks for transport to and from job sites. Materials include equipment, finished goods, and palletized items. When not driving, the employee will work in our warehouse.
We are looking for a CDL A driver to make mostly short run and local deliveries in and around Newark, Syracuse, Buffalo, and Albany, with occasional longer runs to other customers and areas. The candidate will also be responsible for loading, unloading, strapping, tarping, and securing materials, pallets, and tools/equipment for all work-related assignments. Longer travel and/or overnight stays may be required.
This person will also be responsible for staging, loading, and unloading finished products and raw materials, as well as assisting in stocking and maintaining the warehouse inventory, including counting, putting away, replenishing, and rotating stock.
Skills required:
Clean, current Class A CDL driver’s license, and the ability to maintain a DOT medical card
1-2 years driving history in a similar industry, including driving, loading/strapping equipment and materials on flatbed trailers with and without tarping
Load and unload using forklift and other appropriate equipment
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Inspect vehicles for mechanical issues and perform basic maintenance tasks
Adhere to traffic laws and regulations when operating the truck
Use basic ELD software as well as paper logs
Ability to lift 55 pounds, get on and off of the flatbeds and boxes of trucks safely, push, pull, and move materials and items, as well as strap securely.
This is a full-time, year-round position where the driver is home most nights, with occasional overnight trips and long runs. Consistent schedule, local, at least 40 hours per week. Starting range minimum is $22 per hour.
