Position Summary:

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead, manage, and develop a Carrier Sales team to accomplish goals on an individual and departmental basis.
  • Responsible for continued training, coaching, and motivating each Carrier Sales Representative through active management and leading by example.
  • Identify areas and concepts that Carrier Sales Representatives may struggle to grasp and implement coaching and training strategies to further develop team members.
  • Keep team members on task each day by assisting them with prioritizing their daily responsibilities to ensure productivity, efficiency, and the delivery of results.
  • Hold team members accountable.

Carier Strategy & Network Development

  • Stay involved in team member’s carrier pipeline to ensure that each respective carrier is being utilized to their fullest extent.
  • Manage and coach team to develop new carrier relationships to further drive business opportunities.
  • Maintain active dialogue with Client Sales and Business Development teams regarding the understanding of the capabilities of our carrier network to further drive new business.

Operational Excellence & Profitability

  • Identify strengths and weaknesses of carrier coverage.
  • Actively discuss performance and growth plans with top carriers to promote business.
  • Address loss loads with carriers and create solutions to minimize losses.
  • Ensure timely pickup and delivery of customer freight by utilizing and exhausting all portfolios and resources.
  • Work with leadership to review and assess all service issues to make necessary improvements.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 2+ years of leadership experience required.
  • A minimum of 4+ years of 3PL/ industry experience
  • Excellent communication, customer service, and leadership skills.
  • Strong relationship building skills and demonstration of being a team player.
  • Proven attention to detail and organizational skills.
