Role Introduction

Reports To: Assistant Manager Cargo Manager On-Duty

The team at Cargo Service Delivery manage our global cargo services. This includes managing operations and processes and following all local regulations. Our role is to maintain the Cathay Cargo customers’ experience by ensuring their shipments can reach the destination without deviation.

As the Cargo Duty Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring operational efficiency and customer satisfaction by planning, monitoring, and coordinating activities in the Cargo Operation Centre (COC).

Key Responsibilities

Communicate clear procedures and guidelines to staff and ensure ramp and warehouse safety by reminding airside staff

Motivate working groups through skill reviews for enrichment and optimize manpower to maintain high service standards

Utilize resources across units during disruptions and verify attendance reports for necessary actions, including interviews for staff issues

Monitor E-Air Waybill (E-AWB) acceptance and Unit Loading Device (ULD) inventory, transfers, and supplier performance

Ensure accuracy in special cargo movements, flight operations, loadsheet management, and document verification and handle special cargo arrangements (e.g., odd-sized / heavy cargo, horse shipments, etc.)

Handle incident reports and Cargo Alert responses, ensuring appropriate actions are taken

Monitor equipment usage, provide quick response during disruptions, and fulfill delegated duties from the Manager on Duty

Contribute to new initiatives by aligning operational needs and constraints and develop innovative work processes for product rollouts

Provide assistance with IT maintenance and improvements

Ensure optimization of the Cargo Agent Operation Program

Requirements

Right to work in Hong Kong

Minimum age of 18

Post-secondary qualification

Good command of spoken and written English and Chinese

Minimum 3 years of experience in supervisory level and 5 years of experience in airline industry, with experience in freighter load control, ramp/loading and cargo operation would be an advantage

A self-motivated team player and strong leadership and people management capabilities

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact with people at all levels

Strong problem solving, decision making and organizing skill

Flexibility to work on shift schedules (including overnight, weekend, and public holidays)

As the position you are applying for is a Safety Sensitive Role you are also required to pass a pre-employment drug test
