Role Description The Capacity Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in Monterrey, NL, responsible for overseeing and optimizing network capacity across Vortex’s logistics operations. This role includes monitoring daily volumes and lane performance, aligning available assets and carrier capacity with demand, and adjusting plans to meet service and cost targets. The Capacity Manager collaborates with operations, dispatch, and sales teams to forecast capacity needs, support new business opportunities, and resolve capacity constraints in real time. Daily responsibilities also involve analyzing operational data, preparing capacity reports, and recommending process improvements to enhance service reliability and operational efficiency. The role requires proactive communication with internal stakeholders to ensure that resources are effectively deployed in line with customer commitments and network strategy. This role specifically manages capacity on the Laredo–Mexico and Mexico–Laredo lane.
Qualifications
- Strong expertise in Capacity Planning and Capacity Management to forecast demand and align resources across routes and terminals.
- Advanced Analytical Skills to interpret operational data, identify trends, and support data-driven decisions for efficiency and cost control.
- Experience in Operations Management to coordinate logistics activities, improve workflows, and maintain consistent service performance.
- Proficiency in Project Management to lead cross-functional initiatives, implement process improvements, and manage timelines and deliverables.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in capacity, carrier sales, or procurement, ideally within cross-border US-Mexico logistics or time-critical/high-volume networks.
- Ability to work on-site in Monterrey, NLE, with strong teamwork, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Advanced English proficiency (spoken and written) is required, given daily communication with US-based carriers and clients.
- Familiarity with capacity and routing software, spreadsheets, and reporting tools; intermediate to advanced Excel skills are beneficial.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, or a related field is a plus; equivalent practical experience will also be considered.
