Job Scope:
The Capacity Management Specialist is responsible for aligning vessel space supply with commercial demand across the company’s service network. This role involves strategic space allocation, load planning guidance, and trade flow optimization to ensure optimal utilization of vessels while supporting profitability and service reliability targets.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain weekly space allocation plans across trades based on forecasted bookings and historical trends.
Monitor booking intake and coordinate adjustments with trade and commercial teams to optimize vessel loadings.
Collaborate with regional offices to align cargo flow with overall network capacity plans.
Implement capacity adjustments such as blank sailings, extra loaders, or port omissions when required.
Analyze performance metrics including utilization rates, forecast accuracy, load factors, and yield per TEU.
Provide insights to trade and network teams to support strategic decisions around vessel deployment and port rotations.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of capacity planning tools, dashboards, and processes.
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Maritime Transport, Supply Chain Management, or related discipline.
3–5 years of experience in container shipping, capacity planning, or trade management.
Strong analytical and numerical skills; proficiency in Excel and planning systems is a plus.
Able to work under pressure and adapt quickly in a dynamic shipping environment.
