Full Job Description
ASSA ABLOY Fenestration is seeking an experienced Buyer to join our team located in Reno, Nevada.
Position Summary
Responsible for planning and placing purchase orders according to forecast and actual demand within the ERP system
Specific Duties and Responsibilities include:
Utilize the ERP system to release purchase orders to pre-selected, approved suppliers, ensuring delivery as needed
Manage inbound container and truckload shipments, maximizing shipments to ensure the most cost-effective method of transportation
Update/Maintain the system, ensuring current supplier information on lead-time, pricing, and contacts
Work with Demand Planning and Sales to monitor customer forecasts and recommend changes
Develop proactive working relationships with outside suppliers and consultants as well as intergroup companies within the ASSA ABLOY organization
Assist and participate in continuous improvement activities. This may include collaboration with both internal and external resources
Work with Engineering on set-up of new products
Work with Quality and Engineering on supplier quality issues
Min. 3 years’ experience in procurement, including global procurement, freight, logistics and customs
Understanding of purchasing policies, procedures, contracts and forecasting
High level of business acumen
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
MRP/ERP system experience
Proficiency with MS Office applications
Limited travel within North America
