Role Purpose

To develop Swire Bulk’s presence in the Pacific bulk parcel trades.

Execute combinations of spot and COA cargoes in order to develop trade flows for both unitised and dry bulk parcels.

Develop relationships with relevant stakeholders support the business development, to establish winning customer relationships and position Swire Bulk as partner of choice

Role Accountabilities

Cargo

Grow the cargo book, identify and develop new opportunities and customers that complement the existing Swire Bulk trade lanes in the Pacific. Responsibilities to include evaluation of spot and contractual opportunities and management of execution. Generate USD 15 m growth in Parcelling Revenue in the region and secure business with 10 new core/key customers in 2023.

Partner of Choice

Develop and manage the growth of all customer relationships and network in the Pacific Parcelling trade lanes, aligning the regional office proposition to the Swire Bulk Parcelling model identifying key trades and cargo flows which match / complement the existing business/operating profile. Growing the Swire Bulk footprint. Responsibility for strategic relationships – know your Customer, know your Competition, know your Market.

Operating

Identify and execute cargo opportunities both against spot market cargoes and longer-term base cargo COAs. In conjunction with Pacific management generate a USD 0.5m operating profit for Swire Bulk in 2023.

Operational Excellence / Execution

Work closely with Operations, Port Captaincy and Contractors to ensure the planning and execution of shipments is carried out seamlessly to ensure integrity of cargo is maintained and customers are satisfied with Swire Bulk’s Service Delivery.

Winning Team

Communicate with the regional and head office teams in the daily and weekly reports, identifying threats, opportunities on spot and COA cargoes within the Parcel Desks trading lanes both Pacific and Atlantic.

Take responsibility for the safety of myself and those around me by displaying safety leadership principles (i.e. Safety I’s & Accountability ladder). Challenging and stopping unsafe acts and behaviors or unsafe conditions. Comply with the Global Safety Standards, Polices and Operating Procedures.

Key Qualifications & Skills

Qualifications / Experience

University degree strongly preferred

Minimum 5 year’s within MPP or Dry Bulk parcel trades

Technical Skills

Strong understanding of chartering terms

Financial and analytical skills

Excellent communication skills

Professional Skills

Strategic manner and ability to develop business opportunities and relationships

Business Acumen, ability to understand and evaluate business opportunities
