Due to the expansion of our fleet, we are seeking for a Bulk Carriers Operations Manager (Deputy).
As a Bulk Carriers Operations Manager (Deputy)
The role is responsible for monitoring vessels’ operations, movements and manage post fixture activities. Reports to Operations Director.
As a part of your role, you will:
Monitor the day-to-day operation of the Bulk Carriers fleet vessels
Produce calculations for max cargo uplift, stowage plan and port information for prospective vessel’s employment
Provide information and guidelines regarding the cargo, ports, routes etc. to the Master
Coordinate with vessels to ensure timely and proper hold preparation and successful hold inspections
Be familiar with Righship and terminal inspections and guide the Master through
Monitor, control and supervise the cargo loading plans and ensuing cargo operations in the loading and discharge ports
Carry out post-fixture operations of assigned vessels, and issue voyage instructions to Master
Report and coordinate with P&I Club to arrange pre-loading inspections and surveys
Coordinate agency appointments, review the PDAs and FDAs
Assist the Master to prepare on-off hire statements
Oversee the redelivery and delivery procedures with Charterers as well as provide support to Master accordingly
Oversee the lay-time, demurage and dispatch time calculation and issuance of freight invoices
Monitor the hire – freight invoices, collection and payments and/or balance settlement of hire – freight
Co-operate with Chartering department for the vessels time or voyage fixing terms and conditions and provide the pre-fixture information to Charterers
Coordinate and settle the C/P disputes including under-performance and other claims
Receive the Charterers claims and requests and co-ordinate the internal handling among vessel and company departments
Monitor the vessels bunkers and arrange for vessels bunkers stemming with bunkering department
Assist and support the Master with navigation and commercial matters
Requirements
The ideal candidate should have
Minimum of 2 years Seagoing Experience as a Master on board Bulk Carrier vessels with extensive Bulk Carriers background
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in dry Bulk-Carrier vessels operations
Proficiency in all aspects of both voyage and time charter Bulk Carrier vessels operations at sea and in port
Experience in handling claims and Charter party disputes /discrepancies, performance claims etc
A thorough understanding of Charter party terms and commercial awareness
Experience in managing voyage expenses/disbursement accounts/hire statements/final voyage analysis
Strong Computer Skills
Fluency in English
