We are seeking an experienced and proactive Bonded Warehouse Operations & Logistics Manager to lead and develop all bonded warehouse and logistics operations from the ground up. The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing warehouse processes, operational procedures, compliance frameworks, and inventory management systems while ensuring full adherence to customs, HMRC, and bonded warehouse regulations. This role requires a hands-on operational leader with proven experience setting up warehouse structures, policies, SOPs, logistics workflows, and warehouse management systems within a bonded or regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and implement warehouse operational processes, procedures, and policies from scratch.
- Develop and manage bonded warehouse operations in line with customs and HMRC regulations.
- Create SOPs for inbound, outbound, storage, inventory control, and dispatch operations.
- Establish warehouse compliance procedures, documentation systems, and audit controls.
- Manage daily logistics and warehouse activities, ensuring operational efficiency.
- Implement and optimise warehouse management systems (WMS) and reporting structures.
- Oversee inventory accuracy, stock movement tracking, and bonded goods management.
- Coordinate freight, transportation, customs clearance, and shipment scheduling.
- Recruit, train, and manage warehouse staff and operational teams.
- Ensure compliance with health & safety standards and warehouse security procedures.
- Monitor KPIs, productivity, and operational performance improvements.
Requirements
- Proven experience setting up warehouse operations, policies, and logistics procedures from scratch.
- Strong bonded warehouse and customs compliance knowledge.
- Experience with HMRC regulations, import/export procedures, and bonded inventory control.
- Strong operational leadership and project implementation experience.
- Experience implementing warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Excellent organisational, problem-solving, and team management skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced operational environment and build scalable processes.
Preferred Background
- Previous experience within bonded warehousing, logistics, freight forwarding, or supply chain operations.
- Experience managing warehouse start-ups, restructures, or operational transformations.
- Logistics, warehouse management, or supply chain certifications advantageous.
