Summary Obtain and maintain currency, proficiency and qualifications for all applicable unmanned company aircraft.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties as assigned:
The AVO is responsible for coordinating ground and flight operation efforts including mission planning, execution and briefing, debriefing, crew resource management and ground/flight safety. Trains assigned personnel in effective tactics, techniques, procedures, policies and technologies. The AVO is responsible for tasking of the aircraft from pre-flight, launch, mission, landing and post flight operations and to monitoring all vital signs of the aircraft.

Must be willing to travel worldwide for moderate duration. Must maintain physical ability and medical readiness to work at sites which may NOT have access to U.S. trained health care providers. The work sites may be in major cities with care as good as that in the U.S., or conditions may be quite austere with no access to advanced health care at the work location for extended periods of time.

Qualified to act as AVO on primary UAS platforms for all phases of aircraft operations. The AVO is the PIC responsible for safe and legal flight of the air vehicle. Organizes and develops training manuals, testing and evaluation guidelines, and other educational materials. Must demonstrate extensive understanding of UAS and FAA principles, theories and concepts. Must have good analytical, interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to efficiently collaborate with aircrew, management, civilian and government customers, and contractors.

Analyze, plan, evaluate, and execute all assigned flight requirements. Have additional flight related collateral duties. Assist in the pack out, setup, teardown, and recovery of the company’s assets and equipment as needed. Must pass a pre-employment background check and maintain an appropriate level security approval. Must be a US citizen. Supervisory Responsibilities this job has no supervisory responsibilities. Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Ability to work independently and lead in a small team environment, to include possible austere locations.

Education and/or Experience Minimum 2-4 years of relative experience and knowledge of basic UAS flight systems and operations. Associate degree and/or two years related experience and/or training in an engineering or aviation field. Must be able and willing to pursue and maintain an FAA Part 107 Certificate and beyond. Must be able to maintain a current FAA Medical Certificate. Language Skills Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Computer Skills To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office suite software. Desired Qualifications
• 500hr+ Unmanned Systems Operations
• Prior OCONUS Deployments
• Maritime / Shipboard UAS experience
• FAA Certs/Ratings;
Part 107 / Private Pilot / Commercial / Instrument / CFI / CFII
• Airframe and Powerplant Certificates
