We are looking for an Air Freight Forwarder (Import & Export) to join our team in Bucharest (Otopeni).
Working closely with the Sales Department and the Air Freight Operations Team, the successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating international air freight shipments, providing customer support, arranging transportation and logistics services on behalf of our clients, managing operational documentation, and ensuring the smooth execution of import and export shipments.
Key Responsibilities
Air Freight Operations
- Coordinate international air freight shipments (Import & Export).
- Organize and monitor door-to-door transportation services.
- Liaise with airlines, overseas agents, suppliers, customs brokers, and customers.
- Negotiate freight rates and transportation costs with suppliers and partners.
- Ensure the efficient execution of shipments while maintaining high service standards.
- Proactively monitor shipments and provide status updates to customers.
Quotations & Customer Service
- Prepare and submit all-inclusive (All-In) quotations tailored to customers' requirements.
- Identify the most suitable transport solutions based on transit time, costs, and customer expectations.
- Maintain strong relationships with customers and international partners.
Documentation & Administration
- Prepare and process all transport documentation (AWB, shipping instructions, operational documents, etc.).
- Issue purchase orders to suppliers.
- Handle customer invoicing.
- Register operational activities within the company's systems.
- Maintain accurate operational files and documentation according to internal procedures.
Financial & Administrative Support
- Perform primary accounting-related administrative tasks.
- Manage invoice records and supporting documentation.
- Prepare operational reports requested by the direct manager or General Manager.
Correspondence Management
- Receive, register, and distribute incoming correspondence.
- Maintain records of outgoing correspondence according to company procedures.
- Identify and verify recipient details for outgoing documentation in collaboration with the Operations Department.
- Ensure the proper handling and tracking of all business correspondence.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role within the freight forwarding or logistics industry.
- Previous experience working with customers, suppliers, airlines, and international agents.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Advanced English language skills (written and spoken).
- Knowledge of an additional foreign language is considered an advantage.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong planning and organizational abilities.
- Customer-oriented mindset with excellent problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
