Air & Ocean Import Specialist Jobs in Miami, FL at DNAatWork LLC
We are seeking a person with a positive attitude that thrives in a fast-paced environment. We’re looking for a person with experience in the international logistics and transportation industry.
The role of the import specialist is to process and handle air and ocean import shipments for our customers, ensuring the highest quality standards and providing service solutions that meet or exceed our customer’s requirements.
Tasks
Reviews cargo documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness and corrects inaccurate and/or incomplete information. Communicates serious or recurring issues to management or overseas office.
Pay, or arrange for payment of port terminal fees, airline fees.
Coordinate with carriers, customs brokers, and trucking companies to ensure timely delivery of goods
Track shipments and provide updates to customers as needed
Prepare and submit required documentation for customs clearance, including commercial invoices, bills of lading, and other relevant paperwork
Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and laws, including customs regulations and trade laws
Manage relationships with customers and provide exceptional customer service
Comply with all company business process guidelines Bill/Invoice each file to the respective customers paying close attention to payment terms for the responsible party
Check and approve vendors invoices
Timely and effective communication with warehouse team, of shipments arrival and instructions for them to dispatch the freight accordingly

Function / Market & Industry Knowledge / Business Acumen / Processes
Knowledge of ocean and air freight logistics and customs regulations
Understanding of trade laws and regulations
Language skills
Fluency in English is required
Knowledge of additional languages is a plus
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma is ac plus or GED required Minimum 3 years’ experience in imports or combination of education and expertise required Experience and knowledge regarding import entry procedures, compliance, rules and regulations preferred Knowledge of First Port of Arrival (FPOA) entry processes is preferred FDA experience preferred Knowledge of Importer Security Filing (ISF) preferred Good working knowledge of OGA transactions preferred
ENVIRONMENT:
100% performed in climate-controlled internal office environment working under normal office conditions.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; stand; walk; use hands and finger to feel and handle; reach with arms and hands; talk and hear. While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently is required to stoop, kneel, and crouch; lift weight or exert a force up to a maximum of 25 pounds.
