A well-established and internationally recognised freight forwarder near Heathrow is seeking an experienced Air Import Coordinator to join their growing team. This is a great opportunity for a knowledgeable individual to be part of a stable and supportive environment with a clear focus on staff development and operational excellence.
Role Overview:
Oversee the full process of air import consignments from arrival to final delivery
Prepare and process documentation for customs clearance, including AWBs and import entries
Liaise with global agents, customs officials, airlines, and customers to ensure smooth handling of shipments
Track freight movement, manage exceptions, and provide regular status updates to stakeholders
Ensure compliance with UK customs regulations and internal company standards
Work closely with internal departments including transport and warehousing to ensure timely deliveries
Candidate Profile:
Demonstrable experience handling air import operations within a freight forwarding setting
In-depth knowledge of UK import procedures, customs systems, and HMRC compliance
Hands-on experience with industry platforms such as Cargowise, CNS, Destin8, or CDS
Strong attention to detail with the ability to handle multiple priorities effectively
Confident communicator with a proactive and solution-focused mindset
