Dynamic and growth-oriented trucking company specializing in air freight transportation and drayage services in the Los Angeles area is seeking an experienced Airfreight Dispatcher to join the team. The ideal candidate will efficiently coordinate and dispatch drivers for freight pickup and delivery operations, ensuring timely movement of air cargo. This role requires excellent multitasking abilities, strong communication skills, and previous experience in airfreight or drayage operations.

Compensation

$28-$32 per hour, based on experience

Core Responsibilities

Dispatch and coordinate a team of up to 10 drivers operating 26′ bobtails and 53′ trailers

Manage daily driver schedules, routes, and assignments for air freight pickup and delivery

Monitor driver locations and cargo status throughout shifts

Ensure compliance with DOT regulations and company safety policies

Optimize routes for maximum efficiency and on-time performance

Respond promptly to schedule changes and urgent delivery requirements

Maintain accurate records of driver activity, deliveries, and any transportation issues

Handle customer service duties including email communication and phone inquiries

Process necessary documentation, including scanning delivery receipts and airway bills

Troubleshoot operational challenges and implement solutions in real-time

Provide regular status updates to management and clients as required

Required Qualifications

Minimum 1 year of experience in airfreight dispatch, drayage operations, or similar logistics role

Strong knowledge of LAX terminals and surrounding transportation infrastructure

Familiarity with DOT regulations and air cargo handling procedures

Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities

Proficient in dispatch software and Microsoft Office applications

Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail

Customer service orientation with professional demeanor

Preferred Qualifications

2+ years of experience in air freight or drayage dispatch operations

Previous experience coordinating operations at LAX or other major airports

Knowledge of customs procedures and documentation requirements

Experience with transportation management systems

Background in logistics, transportation, or supply chain management

Working Conditions
