Your Responsibilities
Import Operations (Primary Responsibility)
As the main point of contact for import operations, you will help ensure shipments move efficiently while delivering excellent customer service.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Checking and confirming customer bookings when required.
- Providing airline booking instructions when applicable.
- Reviewing pre-alerts for completeness and communicating with customers.
- Monitoring flight arrivals and sending arrival notices.
- Checking HAWB/MAWB status to ensure timely shipment release.
- Preparing customs clearance documentation accurately and on time.
- Arranging trucking orders.
- Collecting Proofs of Delivery (PODs).
- Reporting shipment exceptions to customers and overseas offices.
- Updating shipment milestones in the operating system.
- Updating purchase orders for vendor payments.
- Creating and issuing customer invoices in accordance with company standards.
Export Operations (Backup Responsibility)
As a backup for the export team, you may also support:
- Processing supplier bookings and coordinating with overseas offices.
- Arranging airline bookings according to requested schedules and agreed rates.
- Coordinating export customs clearance with suppliers and customs brokers.
- Organizing pre-carriage with trucking vendors.
- Supporting security screening processes, including Dangerous Goods when certified.
- Processing HAWB/MAWB documentation.
- Handling CMA, VBA, ECS and Cargonaut documentation and procedures.
- Completing AP/AR billing activities.
- Preparing complete pre-alerts for overseas offices and customers.
- Reporting shipment exceptions.
- Updating shipment milestones.
Additional Responsibilities
- Maintaining complete and accurate shipment files (digital and hard copy).
- Working closely with the Sales team to ensure clear SOPs and smooth customer implementation.
- Communicating proactively and professionally with customers, vendors, and Morrison Express colleagues.
- Supporting the Sales team with rate requests and quotations.
- Preparing reports requested by management.
- Performing file checks to support accurate and timely month-end closing.
