Global Trade Logistics (GTL) is a privately owned Australian freight forwarding and customs brokerage company with over 28 years of industry experience. We provide international freight, customs clearance, transport, and logistics solutions to importers and exporters throughout Australia.

Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced and motivated Account Manager – Imports & Customer Service to join our Sydney team.

About the Role

As an Account Manager, you will be responsible for managing import shipments from start to finish while providing exceptional customer service to a portfolio of clients.

You will act as the primary point of contact for customers, ensuring their shipments are handled efficiently, accurately, and professionally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage import shipments from booking through to final delivery
  • Liaise with overseas agents, shipping lines, airlines, transport providers, and customers
  • Monitor shipment progress and proactively communicate updates to clients
  • Coordinate customs clearance requirements with our brokerage team
  • Arrange transport and delivery of cargo
  • Resolve shipment issues and customer enquiries promptly
  • Prepare and manage freight documentation
  • Maintain accurate records within CargoWise
  • Build strong relationships with existing customers
  • Identify opportunities to provide additional services and add value to clients
  • Ensure all shipments are managed in accordance with company procedures and compliance requirements

About You

  • Previous experience in international freight forwarding (minimum 2 years preferred)
  • Strong understanding of import operations
  • Experience using CargoWise One
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to manage multiple shipments and priorities simultaneously
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Positive attitude and team-first mentality
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of customer accounts
