What you will do.

ATS technicians are trained to provide quality maintenance on our growing fleet of over-the-road trucks and trailers. You’ll perform a variety of work including, inspecting, diagnosing, replacing and repairing brake systems ABS, electrical components, steering systems, multi-axle alignments, hydraulic systems, welding/fabrication of steel and aluminum and related equipment. You’ll work independently while being part of a great team!

Summary

The Diesel Technician position is responsible for the inspection, service, repair and preventative maintenance of the various types of ATS tractors by using ATS and industry standard methods and criteria to make sure the tractor is safe to be on the road.

Education and Experience Level 3

Two year AAS Degree in medium/heavy truck diesel program and/or at least one year of equivalent experience in related field e.g., automotive, medium/heavy equipment, trailer repair, etc.

Must be DOT certified or able to obtain certification within 90 days.

Must have brake certification or able to obtain within 90 days.

Must have OSHA tire training or able to obtain within a year.

Must have forklift certification or able to obtain within 90 days.

Must be able to operate all related shop equipment.

Working knowledge of computers and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) required.

Effective communicationskills (written, listening and verbal).

Good decision-making,problem-solving,attention to detailand customer service skills (internal/external).

Basic electrical troubleshooting skills.

Ability to read installation manuals and understand manufacturer training.

Level 2 have in addition to above

At least three years of equivalent experience in related field e.g., automotive, medium/heavy equipment, trailer repair, etc.

Must be DOT and 609AC Certified.

Must be able to MIG weld.

Intermediate electrical diagnostic skills.

Familiar with all diagnostic software programs.

Level 1 must have in addition to above

Minimum of five years of equivalent experience in related field e.g., automotive, medium/heavy equipment, trailer repair, etc.

Must hold a valid CDL (A or

B).

Advanced electrical diagnostic skills.

Proficient with all diagnostic software programs.

Experience with warranty submission.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Perform inspections on company tractors using ATS, DOT, and OSHA guidelines to ensure that the tractors are operating safely.
